Your RV’s Microwave-Convection Oven
June 2, 2018First of all, welcome to the adventure! We are glad you decided to jump in and head out on the road. It is a wonderful lifestyle whether you are a weekender, a seasonal, or a full-timer. There is something in it for everyone.
If you are completely new to living in an RV our first piece of advice would be to practice, practice. Take your rig to a vacant parking lot and practice backing up and parking. Open your slides and close them. Turn levers and knobs, open windows and screens, try it all out several times to get the feel of it when you are not feeling pressured or uncomfortable in front of people.
Another good resource is a video series by RV Education 101. They have a Youtube channel with many helpful videos to shortcut your learning curve substantially. They also have DVDs and checklists you can buy.
The next best thing to know is that everything must have its place. You will be surprised how fast it can look like a hurricane hit inside your rig. It’s a small space and you will soon realize that the act of putting things away – in their proper place – will keep life much simpler and safer.
Heavy things go on the bottom and light things go on the top. This will save you a few toes and knots on your head. Weight in – weight out. It will seem odd, at first, to have to consider how much something weighs before you buy it but you will get used to it very quickly and soon it will be second nature.
Meet your neighbors. Campers are some of the friendliest people on the planet. They enjoy sharing stories and learning about each other. You are going to have the time of your life and we are happy you chose us to be a part of it.
