One of the benefits of cooking in your RV is that you can choose what you want, however, you likely don’t have a lot of room for storage. Here is where growing your own herbs comes in.
You can have a small area on your counter or even an area where you can have some hanging plants and enjoy your very own fresh herbs regardless of where you’re at.
Here are some herbs that are easy to grow and you will enjoy fresh all year long. They’re easy to grow in small to medium-sized planters and don’t have to take up a lot of room.
Basil, this is an ingredient that is often found in Italian foods and pestos. You can easily grow this plant from seeds and plant it several times over the course of a few weeks to ensure that the leaves are always at the ready. Pick what you need and leave the rest for another day.
Oregano is another easy to grow herb. Again, plant it in a medium-sized planter and you’re good to go. Leave it in a sunny location and be sure to water it lightly as required.
Parsley is another easy herb to grow and can be trimmed off and put into foods and on the side of the plate for garnish.
Chives look like grass and impart an onion-like flavor to the foods that it’s added to. You may also wish to plant some garlic and use the shoots as chopped chives are used.
Rosemary is another great herb to grow and you use the twiggy leaf of this plant to impart a delicious taste to many types of meat.
