Pack a Variety of Clothing Options When Camping

You’ll find you need a variety of clothing options when you’re camping. The mid-afternoon might be sunny and warm while your early mornings might be cool and crisp. It might rain, or the wind may blow, or you could be camping during a heat spell. Weather can be unpredictable so you can counter that by packing for all eventualities.

Depending on the time of year you’re camping in, you can plan on needing a range of clothing options on any given day. Pack lightweight, light-colored clothing for the hot days and times when the sun is at its peak. This will keep you cool and comfortable, though try not to stay in direct sunlight for too long.

Bring hoodies, long pants, and warm socks. These can be layered over your pajamas as you enjoy and an early morning cup of coffee. The temps can be cool in the morning, even during the summer months.  Having these pieces will assist you in remaining comfortable no matter what the temps are.

Bring lightweight lap blankets for sitting outside in the morning or around the campfire at night. They can also be used to sit on for watching lawn games or having picnics. These small blankets can be used to boost a child up in their chair or to fill a corner space in the camper. They are versatile and easy to bring along.

Warm socks and dry shoes. Your feet will experience a wide range of temps and conditions. From cold dew in the morning grass to hot roads in the heat of a summer day. They can warm you quickly when you feel chilled so be sure to have a few pair on hand for each person who is camping with you.
