April 14, 2018Spending time outdoors is good for you and there are just a couple of things you should do to protect your skin while you’re outside. You may find you’ve had too much sun, or that the mosquitoes love you. If that is the case, you can save your vacation by making sure you protect your skin proactively with the following tips.
Sunscreen
You may spend more time outside than you realize. It feels good and your friends are swimming or enjoying a game of horseshoes. Before you know it, you could be sunburned and that is something that can ruin your whole trip, not to mention damage your skin.
Choose a high SPF brand of sunscreen and one that is water resistant is a good idea, too. Remember to keep applying it during the day because it will tend to dissipate over time. You’ll get a lot more out of your trip if you avoid over exposure from the sun while you are here. Go ahead, slather it on and get outside and have some fun.
Insect Spray
Mosquitoes are a fact of life and they can ruin your whole vacation if you aren’t armed against them. There are quite a few products on the market for you to try. You could use a direct spray though some people choose to spray their clothing rather than apply directly to their skin. You can also burn citronella candles to help keep the mosquitoes at bay. Some people swear by Avon’s Skin-so-Soft as a repellent. We haven’t tried it but have heard several say it works like a charm.
Drink Plenty of Water
You will be active while you are camping and you’ll probably be sweating off more fluid than usual. It’s important to drink plenty of water while you are camping. You may not realize that you’re getting slightly dehydrated until it’s too late. It’s best to keep track of how many bottles of water you plan to drink each day and focus on meeting that goal.
We want you to have a fabulous time while you are here. Protecting your skin with sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water will make having fun that much easier.
